Caillianne- Robert Burns + Carole Tanenbaum Collaboration Day 1

Today is Robert Burns Day and we are sooo excited to get down with the Scott's and wear Carole Tanenbaum's amazing vintage Victorian Jewelry on this special day! Robert Burns Day is a HUGE Scottish holiday to celebrate the amazing poet who was born in 1759! Scottish families have been having big Burns celebratory dinners with their families for over 200 years and festivals are had all over the world. The biggest festival is the one which takes place in Burn's hometown called Ayrshire and it's one week long! Over 30,000 people attend to see concerts and fireworks! So, for the next two days, we will be celebrating wearing a little Scottish garb and Carole's Victorian jewelry! Carole's Victorian collection is filled with with Agate stones, Sterling silver, Anchors and Kilt pins! Click here to go to her online store to see more!..... Can you hear the bagpipes playing ?!!

The Look: Robert Burns Day + Carole Tanenbaum Collaboration Day 1

Fun Fact: It was soo much fun trying to dress Scottish-like today! We are in love with plaids and I'm still kicking myself for not getting this D&G dress from the D&G outlet store in NY from their Fall 2008 collection! Plaids, never ever going out of style! And we can thank the Scott's for that! I am obsessed with these little belt buckle pins on the petticoat and how the anchor pins give a nod to the Scottish Sailors! P.S. We are also featured on the StyleList today! YAY!!! Pin It Now!

Oh, my mother is Scottish, but we live in England, and she is hosting a dinner party to spread the Scottish cheer!
Love the flash of tartan from the shirt and the hat is divine.

I like the way you interpreted the idea of Burns night - the leather gloves and hint of tartan works especially well.
I'm thinking about doing my own Burns inspired ensemble, complete with one of the many woollen tartan kilts I own!
Thanks for commenting on my blog, and the yellow coat and pink hat a few posts down are amazing!
