The Look: Israeli Army + Granny Smith Apple

Fun Fact: Caillianne and I lived in Israel on a kibbutz called Nir David for three months in 1999 and were volunteers! We lived with other volunteers who came from all over the world.. places like South Africa, London, Sweden and Ireland! We all lived together in a house (kinda like MTV Real World, but WAY MORE RUGGED and not video taped..haha). We all had jobs to do on the kibbutz and mine was to take care of the Kangaroos at the Australian Kangaroo Zoo (also known as "Gan"Garoo"), that was next door to the kibbutz. I had to wake up at 5:30 AM and pick up kangaroo poop until 8:00 AM, have breakfast and then go back at 8:45 AM to finish the poop pick-up (haha) and clean the bunny cages, the Emu's den and rake the grounds to be finished at 1PM. The sun was too hot to work after that so we would go to the Fresh Water Spring (it ran through the kibbutz) then we would swim all day and party all night! I'll never forget those three months! This jacket that I'm wearing reminds me of khaki uniform I had to wear! I was even written up in the Israeli newspaper with a picture of a Mama kangaroo and her baby--it was really sweet! Fun Fact: Samantha and I trade a lot of stuff! It makes our wardrobes fun because sometimes we love eachother's stuff so much and just want to claim "Its mine!" Its sounds silly but it makes you feel like you just bought something new and have a new piece in your wardrobe! This hat is super special because it was made from Holliday and Brown fabric specifically for Prada. Holliday and Brown is a famous for their mens ties. I traded her my Marc for Marc Jacobs sailor heels for this Prada hat. The funny thing is that we did this little trade about 5 years ago. But for Prada's Resort 2010 collection they brought back this print!!!! OMG!!! Sooo excited!! Thank goodness Prada recycles their prints! So, I looked everywhere but I couldn't find this hat anywhere! And finally where did I find it... ? Drumroll please... Back in Samantha's closet! So, I had to steal it back! (Sorry Sammy!) Rosie's Den and Hoover Dam

We travelled from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon, in a kick ass Hummer! We went with Big Horn Hummer Tours and Scott was our tour guide! It was an unnnnnnnnbelievable road trip that started at 6:15 AM with a quick pittstop for breakfast at the famous Rosie's Den on Route 66. Rosie's is known for their huge portions especially their flying saucer pancakes! They had cool things in their backyard like a John Wayne life size poster and an old train that they got from a vacated Vegas hotel. We then drove over to the Hoover Dam which supplies all the water to the South Western States and had breathtaking views of the Colorado River. It's a hydroelectric power generating station that provides irrigation water flow and is used for flood control. The dam was finished being built in 1936 and the architecture is truly phenomenal!xoBeckerman girls

Skywalkin' in the Grand Canyon

The gorgeous Grand Canyon Skywalk was 30 million dollars worth of hard work and brilliant engineering. We first had to put these slippers over our shoes so we didn't scratch the glass. We also were not allowed any cameras, purses or phones. (I guess so people don't throw things off of it!) It was freaky to walk out on the see-through glass panes and look down and see the canyons below! I have to admit we both held our breath when taking our first step on to the skywalk. The freakiest part were those little cracks between the glass with nothing in between them but canyon! OIE! We also had to continually remind ourselves that the Skywalk was built to withstand an excess of 71 million pounds! That’s the equivalent to 71 fully-loaded 747 airliners piled one on top of the other! So... it had to hold us!!! The Skywalk has their own photographers who go to great lengths to take fabulous photos! Our photographer who took our pictures kept trying to scare us by jumping backwards and sitting up on the railing to take our picture! Our first reaction was that he was going to break the glass or fall over backwards! At the Skywalk they have an inside joke there! They tell people to watch out for glass pane 39 because there is something wrong with it. We thought they were all joking around trying to spoof us and then when we got to glass pane 39 there was a board on it... Hahah! Geez! That sure got our adrenalins going! Each of the 46 panes form the walkway and they are constructed of 5-layers of glass bonded together and laminated. So there really was no way of falling though or breaking it. Each glass pane also weighs in at 1,200 lbs a piece! The most beautiful thing about Skywalk is that it is beautifully constructed and it lets people experience a crystal-clear view of the canyon below. It was soooooooo cool to be suspended 4,000 feet over the Grand Canyon!!! OMG! xoBeckerman girls

The Look: Grand Canyon !!!!!!

Fun Fact: On our way to the Grand Canyon, we stopped at a famous diner/truck stop called Rosie's Den for breakfast. It's on the well known Route 66. They have a pancakes the size of flying saucers and if you are able to the whole thing, then it's free! The Grand Canyon was truly spectacular and I loved watching the birds soar through the sky... I put a little stone from the Grand Canyon in the pouch that I'm wearing around my neck so that it will always remind me of this day!xo Pin It Now!

The Look: Grand Canyon!!!!!

Fun Fact: We had the most magnificent day ever at the Grand Canyon! Words can not express how beautiful and vast it is! The ledge behind me is a cliff and if you fall off of it you are basically DUNZO! I couldn't believe how some people were standing so close to the edge! OMG! Hahaha! We also did the Skywalk which was an unbelievable experience. You walk on glass floors and overlook the canyons and you feel like you are having this magical religious experience with nature! The Big white bracelet on my wrist says " I DID IT" and its from the Skywalk! I couldn't take it off all day because I was sooo happy I did it! Pin It Now!
