When we saw the Chanel Fall 2014 Collection we were instantly obsessed with how it's at The SuperMarket! I mean, we always take a ton of pics at the Supermarket because of how vibrant and colorful and fun it is, but Chanel took it to the next level! Cleanup on Aisle three please! Chanel Cookies, Chanel Chain Saws, Chanel Macaroni and Chanel green beans! YES PLEASE! Nomnomnom! Even the baskets were decorated with chains and the models filled their carts with Chanel wine and Chanel crackers. The models had big dread lock pony tails filled with pieces of tweed and braids. The show had a sporty feel because everything was put with running shoes. Our favorite were the lace up runners that stopped right below the knee. The tweed corseted jumpsuits were a total standout and very 80's as well as the crop tops! (Crunch time lol!) We have been obsessed with silver pants, and usually every season we always see something silver in Chanel's collection. Karl did silver baggy pants which are so hip hop and so space like. The best handbags were wrapped in cling wrap and packaged up like a pieces of fresh Agneau (Lamb). The knitwear was so futuristic and beautiful with the holes, as well as sparkly glitter knitwear pants. We loved all the little candy buttons sewn on the sweaters and dresses as well as the graphic pop prints. It was a super happy collection! There were some crazy amazing tweed oversized sunglasses that are a must have! Need everything! Time to Checkout! In honor of this collection, we created a Chanel bread bun with a squishy bun. It's fake food but we thought it would be a fun charm to put our Chanel bag because we love grocery shopping too!

Fun Fact: We are OBSESSED with these incredible Quill and Tine all touch gloves.  Our friends from Toronto created these chic gloves and you can seriously type fast while your hands stay warm. We wore them all during NYFW and they were lifesavers! When we were in NY, we went to newly opened Dover Street Market and spent 3 hours walking through the 7 floors of incredible fashion and clothes curated by Comme Des Garcons. It was an unbelievable store filled with the coolest things we ever did see! We wanted EVERYTHING and it was so inspirational like going to a museum. I got this Comme des Garcons teddy bear bag and he comes everywhere with me:)

Bjork Swan Dog Dress DIY for The Oscars

 photo MARNI-BECKERMAN-OSCARREADY-Doityourself-Beckermanblog.jpg photo Bjork-Beckerman-DIY-SWANDRESS-OSCARS.jpg photo 2014-Oscars-SwanDress-DIYBeckermanBlog-Beckermantwins.jpg photo marni-swandress-diy-bjork-beckermanblog.jpg photo redcarpet-oscar2014-beckerman.jpg

Marni needed a dress for this Sunday's 86th Annual Academy Awards! So we went in to the archives and shrunk Bjork's iconic Swan dress for her. It's like, "Honey I shrunk the Swan" but done as a neck piece so that Marni can still sip champagne (just kidding) as we watch the Oscars together this weekend! LOL! It was really easy to make, and seriously all you need is an old bed sheet or scrap of fabric, a Swiffer duster, napkins, two white hair elastics, black permanent marker and some orange cardboard that I cut out of a TNT envelope. We had all of these thing lying around the house.

How to make it:
So what I did was cut a white piece of fabric from an old bed sheet (folded it) and stuffed it like a sock with napkins. This part is for the face. I than cut some orange cardboard into a cone and taped it as the beak. Do all of your taping in the back so you can't see it. Draw the face with a black permanent marker so that it looks like a swan eye. I then used the two white hair elastics to tie off the fabric around the neck and hold it together.  I taped on a Swiffer Duster to the end of the white fabric and taped the swans beak to the Swiffer Duster to make it connect in a reef like shape. For the last detail, I pleated a white fabric scrap and taped it over the Swiffer where everything connected, so all the tape was hidden. And Voila... Lights, Camera, Action... Miss Marni is ready for the Oscars!

Supplies:
An old Bed sheet or scrap of fabric
Orange cardboard
Black permanent marker
2 white hair elastics
Napkins or stuffing for face
clear duct tape or strong holding tape
1 Swiffer Duster
